
ESTIMATING AND PROCUREMENT ASSOCIATE

Summary:
We are currently searching for an Estimating and Procurement associate. Pfister Energy is a commercial solar energy service provider across the Eastern Seaboard, Mountain, and Pacific Regions. We are a leading Developer and EPC for C&I Rooftops, Carports, and DG Scale Ground-Mount projects. We are looking for a result-oriented and perseverant individual who takes a lot of initiative and who has superior Attention to Detail, who can help us rise to the challenge of building the energy of the future in the competitive and exciting industry of Solar. This position requires periodic travel for pre-bid or bid-drop site visits.
Responsibilities:
Estimating
- Read and interpret solar construction drawings and perform accurate project takeoffs in a timely manner.
- Occasionally conduct Site visits to assess the site conditions, locate major equipment, and hand off pictures to Engineering for design.
- Lead the sourcing of competitive and high-quality subcontractors and vendors in expanding markets.
- Develop and manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors and support in the process of soliciting pricing.
- Spearhead the process of creating a Pricing Database. Record all historical and current bids and track the workflow of projects.
- Perform analytics on pricing, project, and time data to derive valuable insights and recommend data-driven business strategic decisions.
- Complete budget handoffs between estimating and accounting.
- Organize and structure internal and external documents on the company’s database.
- Compile and record actual cost data in Estimating software (PVBid).
Procurement
- Interpret Solar Construction Drawings and develop a detailed Bill of Material for all Major Equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors for lead times and pricing and ensure adherence to schedule and budget.
- Track and Report order and approval status for all major equipment.
- Develop dashboards to visually represent procurement status.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- MS Office proficiency (strong Excel skills a must, MS OneNote skills preferred).
- Procore experience preferred.
- Exceptional ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Prominent Organizational, Project Management, and Data-Entry skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent note-taking ability and strong retention power.
- Strong coordination skills to support a cross-functional team as well as time management, active listening, verbal and written communication, critical thinking, analytics and reasoning skills.

- Eligible Driver’s License.
Education/ Experience:
- Candidate needs to have 1 – 2 years of work experience preferably in a Construction or Solar related field.
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Energy Economics, Energy Systems/Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Data Analytics, or related areas is preferred.
- Prior estimating, procurement, and/or cost analysis experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with solar is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical design components and/or engineering is considered a plus.
- Experience in Subcontract tendering and response evaluation is a plus.
