About the Role

The Project Manager will be responsible for executing solar PV projects while maintaining budget and schedule. The position will manage and direct project management activities, act as liaison between client, stakeholders, engineers, in-house construction managers, and third-party construction managers and other consultants during the execution phase of a project. This position will be responsible for the coordination from pre-construction through successful closeout and turnover of projects. The candidate must deliver positive results and assume accountability for delivering projects on an approved schedule and on budget to maintain value and protect profitability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive execution of projects, keeping them on schedule and on budget, while maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, trade-partners and vendors.
  • Maintain best in industry customer service with all parties, under all situations and conditions.
  • Lead project setup including but not limited to Procore, Smartsheets, and MS Project setup.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and other information utilizing company’s software platforms.
  • Evaluate internal and subcontractor progress reports with an eye toward managing project risks.
  • Present project progress, key findings, and recommendations.
  • Manage weekly progress calls with internal construction, procurement, and engineering teams.
  • Manage close out process of project and drive project to substantial and final completion.
  • Engage and coordinate internal resources, engineers, consultants, and solar installers in preparation and execution of project plans through completion.
  • Direct ownership of project budgets including all costs associated with project.
  • Direct ownership of project schedules with subcontractors and construction managers.
  • Coordinate and manage labor and management and provide weekly progress reports to clients.
  • Lead coordination with AHJ for permit submissions, inspections, and final approvals.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of construction bid amounts and contract terms.
  • Provide site evaluation and due diligence including hiring consultants and other resources.
  • Manage and track application and approvals for incentives and utility interconnection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Track record of achievement and career progression.
  • Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program sizes.
  • Managing internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • Demonstrated success in the Project Management function of a Solar EPC firm.
  • Proven success managing trade-partner’s and developing innovative project changes.
  • Success developing cost to completes, costing and pricing Change Orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, and interpret contract, insurance documents and forms.
  • Background in project start-up meetings, trade-partner and vendor buyouts, owner estimates, sub / vendor requisitions and cost to completes.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects on-time, on-schedule and budget close.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from senior leadership, team members, and peers.
  • Entrepreneurial with a well-rounded business perspective.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must.
  • Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel, Smartsheets, and Procore
  • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving issues, making decisions, and identifying priorities.
  • Ability to travel 10% with short overnight trips.
